Amazon and eBay Selling Dangerous Ebike Chargers

Amazon, EBay and other online websites are selling extremely dangerous e-bike chargers.
London Fire Brigade keep warning about the dangers of using wrong e-bike chargers and batteries.
They say many fires were caused by equipment bought.
Investigations by Electrical Safety First found 59 online listings where e-bike chargers were below safety standards and on sale to the public.
For UK plugs, all failed to meet the standards and many not having a fuse. Fuseless plugs have no way of cutting out in the event of a fault.
All four sites removed the listings once they were aware.
Regulations are needed to ensure online outlets are responsible for the safety of goods they sell.
The highest amount of dangerous listings numbering 21 was found on eBay.
Amazon, where 13 listings were found commented “Safety is important to us and want customers to buy feeling safe.
AliExpress said it takes safety seriously and have guidelines in place to ensure safe shopping.
