The Carrera impel im-2 is a hybrid electric bike designed for city riding and off road trails. It features mechanical disc brakes, 9-speed gearing (available available with both Shimano and Microshift gearing) and a range of up to 50 miles depending on terrain, assistance mode, rider weight etc. The removable integrated 367 Wh battery is coupled with a rear hub motor giving a top speed of 15.5mph. The rear hub motor is a Hyena 250W providing 45NM of torque. The motor is equipped with a orque sensor adjusting the power the rider puts in.
The three available power levels (plus walk mode) can be changed through the handlebar mounted LCD display. This also provides a USB port to charge devices such as phones, lights etc. The display also provides the rider with information such as speed and battery level. When connected via Bluetooth to the Hyena Rider Assistant app via Bluetooth more ride information becomes available such as power mode adjustments, error codes, average speed, maximum speed, distance, trip time etc. The Hyena Rider Assistant app can also be used for firmware updates.
